7 of the Worst Article Writing And Marketing Tips

7 of the Worst Article Writing And Marketing Tips

“There is nothing more hateful than bad
advice.” – Sophocles
There’s a lot of bad advice whispered in the
dark corners of the Internet. What appears like the fountain of quick-and-easy
success is often a nightmarish journey toward credibility ruin.
While there are many, here are 7 of the worst
article writing and marketing tips we’ve found circulating that you should
steer clear of and why.
“Write Content
for Content’s Sake”
Writing articles merely to churn out content
will not help you – it may pick up a few wayward readers, but it will not
sustain your growth. If your articles lack originality, a primary goal, and
audience targeting, then you will lack the ability to engage readers.
Everything you write should have a purpose and meet a need – your readers
should be able to walk away with something. Be informative while sharing your
exclusive and original content.

If you lack the necessary insight on a hot
topic, expand your horizons by performing the necessary research that will
benefit your audience. Integrate this new information with your own commentary
or insight on a particular topic.

“Write What’s on
Your Mind”
Are your neighbors aggravating you again? Did
you make a pie that was simply inspired? Heard something on the news that makes
you see red? Is your relationship going through its paces? Unless the heart of
your expertise is relevant to any of these issues or you plan on tying any of
these experiences to illustrate an informative point, understand this: article
writing is not social media, nor is it a platform to publish personal diaries
or journals.
Write quality, original, and objective content
that meets the interests and needs of
your audienceand you will succeed at becoming a leading authority in your
niche.

“Make Sure it’s
Absolutely AMAZING”
Good grammar, spelling, and cohesive ideas are
important, but not at the expense of your time and energy. Don’t get stuck in
publishing paralysis: you are stuck in a cycle of proofreading and editing
without publishing content. Develop a system bent on quality creative execution
and stick to it.
We recommend at least 7 steps to create
quality content fast: (1) Brainstorm, (2) Outline, (3) Write, (4) Revise and
Edit, (5) Proofread for Spelling and Grammar, (6) Perform Final Edits, and (7)
Submit It!

“Write for
Keywords”
Keywords can have great power. When used
responsibly, they can increase your ability to be found on searches and create
eye-popping titles readers crave. However, keyword stuffing (scattering
keywords throughout the article) creates low quality content, a terrible user
experience, and reflects poorly on the author (as well as anyone associated or
affiliated with that author).
Raise the quality standards bar to create a
positive and memorable experience for your readers.

]
“Promote Yourself
and Your Stuff in Articles”
Readers expect articles to be non-self-serving
sources of informative content. Adding self-serving information (i.e.,
advertising yourself, your organization, your brand, etc.) before the Resource
Box is like a spam-tripwire for readers and breaks their trust. Save
promotional content for areas of your blog or website dedicated to discussing
information about you, your business, and your products or services.
Write quality, informative articles (non-self-serving content)
that targets your readers’ needs and wants to build trust because earning trust
increases your credibility, maximizes your exposure, and is more successful
than a hard sell.

“Use Exact Match Anchor Text”
Publishing the same anchor text aggressively in articles, blog
posts, and guest posts both on and off your website doesn’t benefit your
optimization – it hurts it! Intended for optimization, exact match anchor text
occurs when an unnatural amount of keyword phrases create a static link
profile. Avoid appearing unnatural to readers and search engines by creating a
great user experience.
Find balance in an organic mix of anchor text to add variety and
depth to your link profile while maintaining relevance and transparency.

]
“Use an Article Spinner”
Article spinning software is a complete waste of money and time.
It serves no other purpose than an attempt to plagiarize good content, whether
you own it or not. Article spinning occurs when the user places text into a
software program that replaces the original words with synonyms. Alternately,
there is the “manual” version where content writers attempt
“rewrite” content by tweaking a sentence here and there. We’ve said
it before and we’ll say it again: Article spinning is “word vomit.”
Don’t waste your time or a reader’s time with it.
If you’re interested in squeezing more value out of content you
own exclusively, then consider using it on social media, transposing it into
videos or audiobooks, create webinars from it, compile it into an ebook or
report, and create easy-to-read infographics. Avoid creating derivative content
by planning ahead and exploring a wide variety of angles.

Become Everything You Are Capable of Becoming – Brian Tracy

Become Everything You Are Capable of Becoming – Brian Tracy

The turning point in my life came when I discovered the law of cause and effect, the great law of the universe, and human destiny. I learned that everything happens for a reason. I discovered that success is not an accident. Failure is not an accident, either. I also discovered that people who are successful in any area usually are those who have learned the cause-and-effect relationship between what they want and how to get it.

Determine Your Personal Growth and Development Values

To realize your full potential for personal and professional growth and development, begin with your values as they apply to your own abilities. As you know, your values are expressed in your words and actions.

You can tell what your values are by looking at what you do and how you respond to the world around you. Your values are the root causes of your motivations and your behaviors.

Clarify Your Personal Growth and Development Vision

Create a long-term vision for yourself in the area of personal growth. Project forward five or ten years and imagine that you are developed fully in every important part of your life. Idealize and see yourself as outstanding in every respect. Refuse to compromise on your personal dreams.

Set Goals for Your Personal Growth and Development

Now take your vision and crystallize it into specific goals. Here is a good way to start. Take out a piece of paper and write down ten goals that you would like to achieve in the area of personal and professional development in the months and years ahead. Write in the present tense, exactly as if you were already the person you intend to be.

Determine exactly what you want to be able to do. Decide who you want to become. Describe exactly what you will look like when you become truly excellent in your field and in your personal life.

Upgrade Your Personal Knowledge and Skills

Set specific measures for each of your goals. If your goal is to excel in your field, determine how you will know when you have achieved it. Decide how you can measure your progress and evaluate your success.

Perhaps you can use as a measure the number of hours you study in your field each week. Perhaps you can measure the number of books you read or the number of audio programs you listen to. Perhaps you could measure your progress by the number of sales you make as the result of your growing skills.

Develop Winning Personal Growth and Development Habits

Select the specific habits and behaviors you will need to practice every day to become the person you want to become. These could be the habits of clarity, planning, thoroughness, studiousness, hard work, determination, and persistence.

Action Exercise

Decide today to develop yourself to the point where you can achieve every financial and personal goal you ever set and become everything you are capable of becoming. Write down your goals and make sure to look at them every day, then ponder ways you possibly achieve these goals.

Hate Network Marketing Recruiting?: How to Sponsor Dozens Free

Hate Network Marketing Recruiting?: How to Sponsor Dozens Free

Do you know
anyone or are you tired of the old school network marketing techniques? You
know the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, bugging your family and friends, and
holding hotel meetings.

I know that when I first joined
my first network marketing company, I was told to use these same
techniques.  I was told to make a list of
100 people that I knew and basically call every one of them to ask and see if
they would be interested in making some extra money.

I was only faced with questions I
wasn’t able to answer, getting hung up on, and faced with nothing but
rejection.

When I was officially shunned by
everyone that I knew, all my up-line/sponsor told me to do was to go out and invite
people to our meetings or buy some opportunity leads.

This only led me to some more
rejection and spending a bunch of money.

Now I was out of money, and had
nothing to show for it.
Then just as I was going to give
up, I found what I consider to be the “life saver” for my business.
This life saver I speak of was
Mike Dillard’s .

In these 7 free videos Mike
explained how I could attract an endless stream of prospects to me ready to
join and actually get paid to prospect and instead of calling, prospects are
now calling me.

These videos have really changed
the way I do my business, and I think they can help you too.

5 Steps to Delegating and Supervising – Brain Tracy

5 Steps to Delegating and Supervising – Brain Tracy

There are 5 steps to delegating and supervising that guarantee that your expectations are met and success results are achieved.
Step One
The first step in delegation is to become perfectly clear about the results that you desire from the job. The greater clarity you have with regard to the results expected, the easier it is for you to select the right person to do the job.
Step Two
The second step is to select a person based on his or her demonstrated ability or success at doing this job. Never delegate an important job to a person who has never done it before. If the successful completion of the task is important to the success of your business, it is essential that you delegate it to someone who you confidently believe can complete the task satisfactorily.

Step Three
Third, explain to the person exactly what you want done, the results that you expect, the time schedule that you require, and your preferred method of working. The reason that you are in a position to delegate a task is because you have probably already mastered this task. Taking the time to teach and explain the best way to do the task based on your experience is an excellent way to ensure that the task will be done as you wish and on schedule.
Step Four
Step four is to set up a schedule for reporting on progress. If it is an important task, set up a deadline for completion that is a day or a week before your actual deadline. Always build some slack into the system. Then, check on the progress of the task regularly, very much like a doctor would check on the condition of a critical care patient. Leave nothing to chance.
Step Five
Step five, inspect what you expect. Delegation is not abdication. Just because you have assigned a task to another person does not mean that you are no longer accountable. And the more important the task, the more important it is that you keep on top of it.
What task can you effectively delegate to someone else? Which one of your employees can handle the task efficiently?
I’ve created a special report called “Exercising Your Influence” to help you become a better and more effective leader.

Attitude vs. Aptitude – Brian Tracy

Attitude vs. Aptitude – Brian Tracy

Did you know that a major source of stress in your life is the “fear of rejection” or “fear of criticism?”
This fear of rejection manifests itself in an over-concern for the approval or disapproval of your boss or other people. The fear of rejection is often learned in early childhood as the result of a parent giving the child what psychologists call “conditional love.”

Rise Above the Need For Approval

Many parents made the mistake of giving love and approval to their children only when their children did something that they wanted them to do. A child who has grown up with this kind of conditional love tends to seek for unconditional approval from others all his or her life. When the child becomes an adult, this need for approval from the parent is transferred to the workplace and onto the boss. The adult employee can then become preoccupied with the opinion of the boss. This preoccupation can lead to an obsession to perform to some undetermined high standard.

Avoid Type A Behavior

Doctors Rosenman and Friedman, two San Francisco heart specialists, have defined this obsession for performance as “Type A behavior.” Experts have concluded that approximately 60% of men and as many as 30% of women are people with Type A behavior.

Don’t Burn Yourself Out

This Type A behavior can vary from mild forms to extreme cases. People who are what they call “true Type A’s” usually put so much pressure on themselves to perform in order to please their bosses that they burn themselves out. They often die of heart attacks before the age of 55. This Type A behavior, triggered by conditional love in childhood, is a very serious stress-related phenomenon in the American workplace.

Action Exercises

Here are two things you can do immediately to deal with the fear of rejection, criticism and disapproval.
First, realize and accept that the opinions of others are not important enough for you to feel stressed, unhappy or over concerned about them. Even if they dislike you entirely, it has nothing to do with your own personal worth and value as a person.
Second, refuse to be over concerned about what you think people are thinking about you. The fact is that most people are not thinking about you at all. Relax and get on with your life.
